i don't know when or how this occurred but at some point along the way i became obsessed with all things french.  just to name a few - champagne, red nails/red lips year round, Coco Chanel, black & white everything, chocolate, cheese, bread and red wine regularly, kissing ;), FRIES, french onion soup, haute couture, femininity, Juliette Binoche, art, my heritage, my all time favorite Sex in the City episodes were filmed in Paris, & my first, middle and last name!  i guess it was meant to be?  the latest addition to that ever growing list - is macaroons.  too difficult to explain the taste & texture.  if you have never partaken, i say you drop everything you're doing this instance and go find one several!  i have been wanting to attempt making them - so on a whim last night, i did.  i used this recipe of Martha's.  i wouldn't say it was mission impossible.  but it WAS tricky.  anything involving egg whites make me unnerved.  i will be attempting this again (and again) until i reach perfection!  PLUS there are so many flavor and color combinations i have got to try!  chocolate, peanut butter, pistachio, strawberry, coconut!  mix & match!  although it wasn't a major success - baking is always cathartic for me.  mission accomplished!
